Merlin CD3 Paddle

Talon Technologies of Australia (Merlin) have announced their new generation paddles. At the Australian Nationals in Adelaide at the end of April 2010, Merlin unveiled their new "3 Series paddle", the CD3.

Merlin Australia tell us (early Dec-10) they have "good inventory on the CD2s and I am expecting a shipment of CD3s and TD3s over Christmas and early in the New Year".

Extended shaft

Cd3 shaft is 35mm longer, giving more power to the tip of the bladeThe Cd3 has a shaft that is 35mm longer, giving more power to the tip of the blade. It also enables the tip point to be engineered with greater precision.

Concave upper blade

Another change in the 202a specs means the concavity in the blade holds the water, giving you more resistance and more power.

Sharper blade tip

The 202a paddle specs have changed, so the Cd3 has the sharpest bottom edge allowed, giving whisper clean entry and exit.

Aerospace technology

The aerospace, thermoplastic core and flat woven carbon makes the paddle lighter, tougher and is much better for the environment.
