Training for teams has always been a challenge during the dragonboat season. With the advent of opening up competitions for teams nationally and internationally having the ability to train whenever the opportunity is available without restriction has always been a challenge.
The NZDBA have drafted an appendage rule for training which takes into account the daylight saving hours which is referred to as an 'on/off' season.
The NZDBA have adopted the IDBF Race Competition Rules for dragonboating in NZ inline with AusDBF to align the sport to International Standards. This will keep the future of dragonboating on the path forward and will be adapted to suit the types of competitions that are being developed over the next few years.
Teams will need to familiarise themselves with these rules For a copy of the Rules for racing click on the link: /IDBF Race Rules 08(1).pdf
