Teams will be allocated pseudo-random lanes in the heats so that they race in varied conditions. However lanes for the Finals will be seeded based on the fastest three heats. That is, inside out with lane 3 being fastest qualifier then lane 4, then 2, 5, 1, 6 (ranked next fastest qualifiers from the Heats).
Adults Racing - Saturday 27-March
Adults day at Nationals will again culminate in a Grand Final comprising the five (or six) teams with the fastest aggregate times on the day, based on their three best heats out of four.
The winner of the GF will be awarded the National Championship’s Trophy and a set of Gold Medals per paddler. Runners up will receive Silver Medals and the third team will get a set of Bronze Medals. Likewise, the BC Grand Final will have a trophy and G/S/B medals.
Schools Racing - Sunday 28-March
For Boys Schools, medals go to G/S/B (Gold, Silver and Bronze), Girls Schools get G/S/B and Mixed Schools get G/S/B. The winner of each division (Boys, Girls and Mixed) is also awarded a trophy.
NZDBA has negotiated a very good vehicle rental deal to help teams get to the venue at Lake Hood. More...
